Yale Summer Academy - Admissions Overview

Rolling admissions? What's that mean exactly?: We'll employ a rolling admissions policy. Completed applications will be considered on a bi-weekly basis. You are encouraged to begin and complete your application as early as possible because the number of available spaces will decrease with each passing week. This means that the date on which you finish your application directly affects when you will receive your admissions decision, as well as when you will be expected to RSVP and pay your tuition.

After all required materials are received and the application for admission is completed, the application file will be assembled and shared with the admissions committee. The admissions committee is comprised of staff and faculty.

What's the committee looking for?: Selections are based on a record of academic excellence, a genuine interest in experiencing the life of a student exploring the majors, a demonstrated passion for learning more about the program, and an effort to complete the application and all supplemental materials as promptly as possible ahead of the deadline. By design, our application is meant to feel similar to a college application. We expect applicants to use this experience to gain valuable experience and have the opportunity to present the best information possible to the committee.

What are the deadlines and decision dates?: Well, that depends on you and when you finish your application. Refer to the timetable below for specifics:

How will I be notified of my decision?: Admissions decisions will be sent via email before 5pm EST on the rolling release date. We'll use both the applicant and the primary parent/guardian email addresses on file.
